How the Catforms Program Works for Schools

We provide answer sheets and scoring services for the 1970 California Achievement Tests. The 1970 CAT is divided into five levels, which are listed on the back of our order form. Each level has a Form A and a Form B, which are usually alternated from year to year.

Levels 1 & 2 (grades 1-3) use a consumable student booklet, which is hand-scored by your teachers. The test information and raw scores are sent to us on the Raw Scores Form we enclose with your order. Levels 3-5 (grades 4-12) use a separate answer sheet, provided by us, on which students mark their answers. The Raw Scores Form for Levels 1 & 2 and the completed answer sheets are then returned to us for scoring.

As we stated, the test booklets are out of print, but our program has been designed in-house and is independent of the original publisher. Most of our customers already have test booklets; if you do not, we have Level 3, 4, and 5 booklets available for loan. Regrettably, the consumable booklets for Levels 1 and 2 are unavailable.  

What Schools Receive

1. Achievement Test Profile: one for each student, which gives the statistics and scores for the current test and for any previous years. View a sample Achievement Test Profile.

2. Achievement Test Analysis: one for each student in Levels 3-5. This graphically breaks each section of the test into small subcategories, showing specific strengths and weaknesses. View a sample Achievement Test Analysis.

3. Catforms Percentiles: A summary page that shows how your students compare to others that use our scoring service. View a sample Catforms Percentiles page.

4. Class Averages: A summary page that gives the test statistics and averages for each grade and for the whole school on two tables. If you used our service last year, another table shows how the latest tests compared to the previous year. View a sample Class Averages page.
